May 3rd:
Pictures from Ying's secret marriage proposal to Jenie! It started with a snowboarding trip to Whistler with our friends Ken and Jennifer (a.k.a "Kennifer"). After snowboarding, we all checked into the Pinnacle hotel to freshen up. We then went across the street and had dinner at Hy's Steakhouse. Meanwhile, hotel staff were secretly setting up rose petals, candles, flowers and wine in the room. Ken and Jen made an excuse to leave dinner early so that they could setup a video camera to film the big moment! When the two got back to the room, Jenie was completely shocked by the arrangements. Ying was so nervous that he forgot to lead Jenie in view of the camera shot...and he forgot most of his speech...Nevertheless, Jenie said "Yes" (of course)! This was the first time Ying had ever totally surprised Jenie...she was very impressed.
The next day, Ying suprised Jenie again with a trip back to the Adventure Ranch in Pemberton for horseback riding. It was the same place we had our first date, and arrangements were made so that we could ride the same horses - Levi and Bootlegger!
